Ranking Member McHugh Announces Republican Armed Services Subcommittee Assignments

Washington, D.C. – Ranking Member John M. McHugh (R-NY) today released a list of subcommittee assignments for Republicans on the House Armed Services Committee.  The leadership and membership of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will be announced separately.

“I would like to congratulate and thank our Republican members for their willingness to serve on the Armed Services Committee and the individual subcommittees they have selected,” said Rep. McHugh.  “As we have in the past, we look forward to working with our majority counterparts to provide the necessary oversight of the Department of Defense and military services, while at the same time ensuring that we provide a strong Republican viewpoint on the principles that are important to us.”

“Our country is facing a number of major challenges on the national security front, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  I’m confident that we have the team in place to meet those challenges, and I look forward to working with all of my colleagues on the Armed Services Committee in the 111th Congress,” concluded McHugh.
