Washington D.C. – U.S. House Armed Services Committee Ranking Republican Duncan Hunter (R-CA) today released the following statement regarding Prime Minister Tony Blair’s announcement that the British government would reduce its troop commitment as the security situation in Southern Iraq continues to improve:
“The British are undertaking personnel reductions according to a security plan which is not based on arbitrary deadlines or dates. This is consistent with the overall coalition plan to turnover security and stability operations to the Iraqis.”
