Hunter Announces the Appointment of Rep. Randy Forbes as the Ranking Member of the Readiness Subcommittee

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. House Armed Services Committee Senior Republican Duncan Hunter (R-CA) today announced that Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) has been selected to be the new Ranking Member of the committee’s Readiness Subcommittee.

”Randy Forbes brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position that will benefit our Members, his constituents, and the men and women who wear the nation’s uniforms.  As the Ranking Member on the Readiness Subcommittee, he will work to ensure our military has the proper tools, facilities and training to fulfill its missions,” said Rep. Hunter.

“I am honored to be able to better serve our Armed Forces by serving as Ranking Member on this important Subcommittee.  Our military has and will continue to serve a critical role defending our nation, and the Readiness Subcommittee ensures that our military is up to any task this country asks of them.  I have a long history of working with Readiness Subcommittee Chairman Solomon Ortiz on the Modeling and Simulation Caucus and I look forward to continuing to work with him in this capacity to determine the priorities that best serve our military, our service members, and our country,” said Rep. Forbes.

Rep. Forbes represents Virginia’s Fourth Congressional District, which has a strong military presence and tradition.  By building on the work of the late Rep. Jo Ann Davis (R-VA), Rep. Forbes will continue to ensure the readiness needs of America’s military men and women are met.  He is the founder of the founder of the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus, the Congressional China Caucus and co-chair of the Navy and Marine Corps Caucus.
