Washington, D.C. – House Armed Services Committee Chairman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) today released the following statement regarding President George W. Bush’s nomination of the Honorable Pete Geren for Undersecretary of the United States Army.
 
Hunter’s statement follows:
 
“I commend President Bush for nominating Pete Geren for Undersecretary of the Army. 
 
“Pete has served our nation in many different capacities and his demonstrated knowledge, expertise and continued willingness to accept new responsibilities within the Department of Defense make him an ideal candidate for this position.  His experience in Congress and within the Defense Department will facilitate the House Armed Services Committee’s ongoing efforts to support the Department of the Army.
 
 “I have full confidence in Pete’s ability to faithfully serve the men and women of the U.S. Army and I look forward to working with him in his new role.”
