Duncan Hunter Statement on 9/11 Anniversary
Washington D.C. – U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA), the top-ranking Republican on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement in observance of the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.
“Since we were attacked on 9/11, American forces have pursued, apprehended and killed terrorists in remote parts of the world—from the 14,000 foot mountains of Afghanistan to safe houses in Iraq.
“Seven years after the attacks on our homeland, the United States and our brave warfighters continue to lead the war against terror. The strength of America’s response is manifested in the more than 1.7 million brave men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
“In a deadly world, it is a testament to the ongoing efforts of America’s airmen, soldiers, sailors and Marines that the terrorists have been defeated in their many attempts to attack our homeland again. Nothing speaks louder to the families of those who died on 9/11.
“We will never forget.”
