Today, Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, made the following statement on yesterday's announcement that a THAAD battery will be deployed in South Korea

“The announcement that the U.S. and the Republic of Korea have made the decision to deploy THAAD in South Korea is a welcomed one, and it serves as a reminder of the strength of our alliance. This is yet another step in the increasing interoperability of our missile defense systems. Our two countries will not permit the regime in North Korea to blackmail us or our allies with the world’s most dangerous weapons.”
