WASHINGTON - Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, today congratulated Ms. Jeanette James on receiving the Army Distinguished Civilian Service Award. The award was presented by Major General Laura Richardson in appreciation for Ms. James twelve years of service as part of the staff of the Subcommittee on Military Personnel. Jeanette James has led the Military Personnel team for the past three years. Prior to joining the committee staff, James served in the Army Nurses Corps for 31 years, rising to the rank of Colonel and commanding the medical department activity at Fort Drum. Jeanette James retires from the House Armed Services Committee staff this week. Read more »
