Supporting Ukraine

THE PROBLEM:

As Russia continues its push to destabilize Ukraine, the U.S. must continue to provide security assistance to allow it to better defend itself against persistent Russian aggression.

WHAT WE ARE DOING TODAY:

While the United States is providing vital assistance to Ukraine, there are additional training and equipping opportunities that are not being met that could provide valuable tools for Ukraine to deter Russia.

WHAT WE COULD BE DOING:

The House-passed FY18 NDAA adds additional training and equipping opportunities to the Ukraine Security Assistance Act, which includes both funding and authority for the President to provide lethal assistance to Ukraine. These authorities would allow Ukrainians to better defend their territorial sovereignty.
