Chairman Thornberry (R-TX), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, extended his welcome to Congressman Russell:
"I am proud to welcome Congressman Steve Russell to the House Armed Services Committee. As we work with complex issues regarding national security, we need Members who can offer perceptive insight into the field. I believe that Steve's experience as an Army officer and outstanding leadership skills make him an excellent addition. I look forward to beginning our work and serving together for the rest of the 114th Congress."
Rep. Russell joins the Committee filling Rep. Palazzo's (R-MS) seat, who was selected for the Committee on Appropriations.
