Rogers Statement on National Spectrum Strategy

U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, released a statement on the Biden administration's National Spectrum Strategy.

"Any studies stemming from the National Spectrum Strategy, including and especially those for the lower 3 GHz, must ensure that the mission of defending this nation from our adversaries remains paramount. The Department of Defense should not be forced to vacate or artificially compress within these bands at the detriment of national security.

"The National Spectrum Strategy's spectrum pipeline objective is the foundational element of this strategy, and the details in the forthcoming implementation plan will be critical to assess its feasibility. The spectrum identified for further study by the strategy should follow the example of the Partnering to Advance Holistic Spectrum Solutions (PATHSS) Task Group. While not a perfect process, PATHSS is a model for collaboration between industry, federal agencies using the spectrum, and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to identify spectrum available for sharing while protecting the incumbent user's ability to conduct its missions."
