Purpose:
The purpose of the hearing is to examine Department of Defense policies, programs, and activities in the Greater Middle East and Africa in preparation for the committee’s consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026. The hearing provides an opportunity to assess the threats to U.S. national security in the region and to evaluate the effectiveness of the Department’s use of the resources provided by Congress to defend our nation.
