Rogers Welcomes Headquarters in Poland, Urges NATO Allies to Bolster Defenses

U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL), Lead Republican of the House Armed Services Committee, released a statement following an announcement of additional U.S. defense measures in Europe.
"I have repeatedly called on the Administration to have permanent basing in Eastern Europe to better deter Russian aggression. The United States' announcement of a headquarters in Poland, and additional presence in Romania and the Baltics are good steps forward, but more needs to be done. Additionally, deterring Russia in Europe cannot, and should not, fall predominantly on America's shoulders. It is imperative that our NATO allies, particularly those in Western Europe, continue to increase their own defense spending as well. "
