A BILL
To amend the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 to remove separate treatment
or exemption for nuclear safety violations by nonprofit institutions.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. NONPROFIT INSTITUTIONS.
(a) REMISSION OF CIVIL PENALTY- Section 234A(b) of the Atomic Energy Act
of 1954 (42 U.S.C. 2282a(b)) is amended by striking the last sentence of
paragraph (2).
(b) EXEMPT INSTITUTIONS- Section 234A of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (42
U.S.C. 2282a) is amended by striking subsection d.
